I’ll be returning to Columbus this Spring to serve as concertmaster once again while the Columbus Symphony and BalletMet share the stage for Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring, comes with great excitement and anticipation. As a musician, it is humbling to know this monumental work was the source of riots at the premier one hundred years ago. But just a century later it is considered one of the most brilliant masterpieces in the orchestral repertoire, and both audiences and musicians alike share a keen eagerness to experience it. I’m very much looking forward to working again with the energetic and enthusiastic CSO Maestro, Jean-Marie Zeitouni. I have no doubt this will be an enjoyable and exciting concert! In addition to the Rite of Spring, also on the program is Debussy’s Prélude à “l’Après-midi d’un faune” and Ravel’s Rapsodie Espagnole . Both works bring contrasting colors and emotions to balance this concert perfectly.
Since I didn’t have time to visit the Columbus Zoo last October, I’m hoping to squeeze a trip in this time!March 22nd Tickets March 23rd Tickets March 24th Tickets

One of the happiest sounding pieces in the orchestral repertoire is the Schubert’s 9th Symphony. While it is an extreme cardio workout for the orchestra, it is so gratifying and rewarding to play a piece that just about guarantees a cheerful reaction from the audience. I’m so pleased to be playing this splendid work with the Maestro Jean-Marie Zeitouni and the Columbus Symphony on their first Masterworks concert of the season. Also on this concert is the very popular, Russlan and Ludmilla Overture by Glinka, which is just plain fun to play. Additionally, Tchaikovsky’s first piano will be performed by Nareh Arghamayan who is one of the finest pianists of her generation. This program is balanced so perfectly; extreme joy, drama, sincerity, and passion all in a single concert. I can hardly wait!
An added bonus to playing with the Columbus Symphony will be a chance to visit my large extended family and hopefully a quick trip the Columbus Zoo!
